A high level summit for social enterprise? In the UK it is not just possible – it happens. Cabinet Office minister Liam Bryne has announced that a summit will be held with business secretary Peter Mandelson to ensure that the social enterprise movement becomes a “bigger part of the British economy”. On the agenda would be things like its role in public service delivery, 25 thousand new job opportunities in the sector and extra funding.
