Bill Gates leaves behind a rich legacy in terms of philanthropy. After him, Microsoft continues to come up with such initiatives, the latest being “NGO Connection”, designed as a new online resource for use by thousands of non-profits around the world.

“NGO Connection” aims to assist non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to better use technology to achieve their goals. It also intends encouraging networking and co-ordination of NGO resources across the world.

“NGO Connection” is fashioned as a convenient one stop shop for technology resources, knowledge sharing, community building, and successful examples for NGOs to emulate. Microsoft claims “NGO Connection” uses simple, non-technical terminology for NGOs to better access the company’s entire range of resources and offerings.

“NGO Connection” will also act as platform for NGOs to share experiences, best practices, and case studies. It will give NGOs the option of participating in online forums wherein they can engage in dialogue about effective use of technology and sharing of solutions. The ultimate goal being to help NGOs make the connect between their various needs and how to use technology to fulfill them.

Furthermore, Microsoft plans to localize “NGO Connection” in Arabic, French, German, International English, Russian, and Spanish in the coming months. More information about “NGO Connection” is available here.
