Serbia: Human rights festival opens
"Terrorism, No Thank You". With this title the third VivisectFest, a festival that celebrates human rights through the showing of multimedia materials opens in Novi Sad, Serbia
The Third VivisectFest, under the title Terrorism, No Thank You, opens today, March 24, 2008, at the Museum of Vojvodina in Novi Sad.
The Third Human Rights Festival VIVISECTFest aims to present terrorism as a dangerous social phenomenon that has been present, in a variety of forms, throughout human history.
The programme deals with the underlying topic of terrorism through the media of documentary films, photography and politically engaged posters. That approach provides an opportunity to present, in one place, the views held on terrorism in the world by many authors.
This year`s ViviSectFest (March 24-29) offers an exhibition of photographs by photographers of the VII Agency, under the title `War: America, Afghanistan, Iraq`; Exhibition of posters prepared by students of the Arts Academy in Novi Sad; and film programme with 12 documentary films.
The Festival is assisted by Provincial Secretariat of Education and Culture, Governments of Vojvodina and Serbia and the C.S. Mott Foundation.
