To develop leadership in the Swedish non profit sector. This is the goal that Ideell Arena, an informal partnership of 58 Swedish non profit organizations that have chosen the Internet as the place and tool to meet, share ideas and improve leadership.

One mission in a name. Ideel is, in fact, a Swedish word that combines the English words "not for profit", "voluntary" and "idealistic". And Arena means ?arena?, a meeting place. Ideel Arena promotes leadership in three different ways: supporting academic research about the Third sector, running strategic development programs and promoting networking among people working in the sector.

In Sweden there are several formal national umbrella bodies for the Third Sector, but all of them deal with a specific part of the Sector. Ideel Arena, on the other hand, aims to cover the whole third Sector, which in Sweden produces 6% of Gdp.
