Charity supporter and 78-year-old great-grandmother Barbara Riddle has added a 10,000 foot tandem skydive to the list of daring fundraising exploits that she has taken part in.

Riddle, from Knock, Aberdeenshire, did the jump to raise money for the RNID. She has also bungee-jumped, paraglided, climbed a volcano and white-water rafted on a trip to Australia and New Zealand.

?I love having a go at all kinds of so-called ?terrifying? activities,? she said. ?I encourage everyone to think about what they can do in life and urge anyone looking for a fantastic, breath-taking experience to just give skydiving a go.?

Caroline Jupe, events and community fundraising executive for the RNID, said: ?Barbara?s positive attitude is an inspiration to people of all ages. We?re so lucky to have such a real-life action hero helping to change the world for deaf and hard of hearing people.?
