Sergio Marelli, president of Italy's NGOs association, in view of the next financial act for 2008-2010, has asked the government to give 150 million euros for international cooperation.

According to the president's declaration, support to NGOs would be a sign of the real will to support development policies.

"This is just an initial commitment ? declared Marelli – a commitment that has to be confirmed by the approval of the financial act which the Parliament is about to discuss. We want to be sure that this time the promises that are made are respected?.
