PADUA (Italy) – Irene is from Geneva and works for ICVolunteers. She is responsable for recruiting volunteers to organize events and manage projets in Africa. David is a journalist, from England, like Geneviève who comes from France.
Filippo is from England too, he is responsable for the Euclid Network, while Agnieszka, from Poland, is a researcher.
They are all in Padua at Civitas, with Renzo Micheletto, Europe direct rappresentative of the Commision, and they officially just presented VITA europe, which will give the web-surfers all around the world the possibility to know much more about the third sector in Europe.
Differences, but even common needs and ideas are the basic reasons for VITA europe to start. But not only. A strong need from European Union and european non profit organization to form networks and give themselves a new governance. That is mainly the second reason for VITA europe to be launched.
The whole project has been achieved through a joint effort between Vita and its 15 members from 13 different European countries. Their identikits? As diverse as the individuals of the civil society they represent: Vita Europe’s network is made up of charities, cooperatives, foundations, social enterprises and freelance journalists.
