Serbia: Social Responsibility Initiative
It will create a database to identify the best practices that contribute to maximisation of competitive and social benefits
Within it?s activities for promotion of Corporate Social Responsibility, the Smart Collective, together with a number of leading companies in Serbia, initiated the creation of database that would cover studies of cases related to socially responsible activities of companies in Serbia.
The database aims to identify the best practices that contribute to maximisation of competitive and social benefits.
According to the Smart Collective, it should stimulate the companies and enterprises to a more intensive measurement of impact they have on their business, social and natural environment and reporting on their activities in that area. The case-studies collected for the database will be used as examples of best practices to promote further discussion on corporate social responsibility issues in Serbia.
Reporting on the impact of one?s impact on the society demonstrates dedication to the principles of openness and transparency. Reports and reporting on social and environmental impact are essential in that regard, as they should clearly present the mission and values of a company.
Nevertheless, it is important not to overdo the praise for one?s achievement, for it can lead to impression that the whole work is designed to gain publicity. For instance, commercial sponsorships should not be presented as investments in the community.
