Let’s do it! My Estonia brainstorming session is an Estonian civil initiative which seeks to involve tens of  thousands of local citizens in an effort to proactively make Estonia a generally better place.  Last year a similar initiative organised by the same people saw 50,000 volunteers clean up 10,000 tons of waste all over Estonia, making the first of the movement’s enterprises a great success.  This year, a nationwide brainstorming session is being organised with May 1 being the selected date in which people from all over the country will be asked to come up with inovative ideas and solutions to local problems.

2009’s event will take place across 400 brainstorming chambers in cultural centres, schools and other popular establishments all over Estonia.  Anyone who wants to come is welcome to do so, and volunteer discussion leaders are also being recruited.   Discussions on relevant themes will also be held virtually, as chambers will be created on the My Estonia website enabling Estonian communities across the world to also be included.

Themes to be discussed include health, security, education, culture, natural resources and country life.  Because of the proactive ambition of the project, questions will automatically start with the word „how”.  Thereby forcing particpants to find solutions.
